Department of Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering has been playing a pivotal role in producing scientists and technologists of highest calibre ever since the institute was established. The first batch of students graduated in 1992. The Department follow a two-year modular structure of the institute in undergraduate programmes namely, Base module, Diploma module and Degree module. The students for each module are admitted through NERIST Entrance Examination namely, NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III respectively. The Department is also offering Postgraduate (M. Tech) programmes with specialization in Power System Engineering and Ph. D programmes to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of Electrical Engineering.

The Department has distinguished faculty members having Ph. D/M. Tech degrees from renowned institutes in India. The infrastructure and laboratory facilities are upgraded from time to time and provide adequate opportunities for students and researches to learn and innovate. The Department also undertakes many research projects sponsored by government

Electrical Workshop & Maintenance Lab

The theoretical knowledge imparted to the students is further supplemented by the practical classes. The infrastructure of the Department includes well equipped Power System Lab, High Voltage Engineering Lab, Electrical Machine Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Digital and Microprocessor Lab, Maintenance Lab, Electrical Workshop, Circuits and Measurement Lab, Control and Instrumentation Lab, PC Lab with internet connectivity, Energy Systems Lab and Project and Research Lab.
